What else is there to learn? I think I know all there is to know! I was talking to Grandpa Charlie about this and he said that going to school isn't just about learning more stuff. It's not just about math and science; it's also about making friends, possibly friends who need to hear about Jesus. I thought about it and he's right. School is where I get to go to every day and share God's love with other people. School is another place where I get to practice how to treat others the way I want to be treated. Of course, Grandpa Charlie also said the stuff we learn in class is very important. Hmm... I'm still not a big fan of math though. Either way, I think I'm gonna go into the new school year with a new attitude. I do have lots of friends I can't wait to see again, and some of them don't know Jesus. She laughed and asked again in a different way: "Can you think of a time when you were brave enough to do what needed to be done, even though you were afraid?" I thought for a moment and said, "Yes! Recently I was walking home from school, and I saw a boy getting picked on by an older kid. I didn't know either one of them, but I knew I had to something. I was afraid, but I stood up to that bully, and he left us alone!" I made a new pal that day; his name is Jake. You know what that means?! No? Me neither. But I do know I'm excited about all the new things I will learn this year, especially on my skateboard. I've been working on mastering an airwalk. I get plenty of air off of the ramp, but once I'm in the air… well, things don't pan out as they had in my head. Ouch! This month we are learning about discipline in FamJamz, which is something I could totally use more of. Not just to help me be good about practicing my skateboard tricks, but also in doing my homework and reading God's Word, especially since I'm not big into reading.
